Regional Scholarship Scheme for Ljubljana Urban Region
Brief Description of Project
The main goal of the project is to stimulate staff scholarships and connecting the needs of the economy and educational spheres. Scholarships are awarded for concrete employment positions – the priority for development needs and prospective professions in the region. The procedures for obtaining a scholarship are carried out by RDA LUR as a beneficiary every year for new scholarship recipients and upon receiving a scholarship, students shall receive it until the end of their schooling in accordance with their study program.

Financing
The scholarship from the regional scholarship scheme is composed of:
a part from The Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenian for the Development of Staff and the scholarship shall ensure a subject for stimulating development at the regional level or the scholarship giver (RDA LUR) in the amount of 50 % of the awarded scholarship; however, in the amount of 30% of the minimum salary at the most in accordance with Article 37 of the Scholarship Act,
the other half shall be ensured by employers, where the scholarship recipients will be employed for the period of their study program or for the period concluded in the scholarship contract. The scholarship giver can ensure co-financing of the employer’s obligations in the amount of up to 40% of the scholarship on the part of the municipality as well.
Scholarship Amount
The basic amount of the scholarship shall amount to 15% of the minimum wage for pupils
(88.38 EUR) and 28 % of the minimum wage (164.97 EUR) for students. The scholarship recipients shall be entitled to supplements for school success and transportation expenses or accommodation expenses.
The Regional Scholarship Scheme Project for the Ljubljana Urban Region is financed by EU funds, The European Social Fund within the framework of the Operative Program for the Development of Human Resources for the Period 2007 – 2013, 1st development priority »Stimulating Entrepreneurship and Adaptability«, priority orientation 1.2. »Scholarship Scheme«.
The RDA LUR acquired funds from the European Social Fund and the state budget for the Regional Scholarship Scheme for the Ljubljana Urban Region for the 2008/2009 school year, which they will utilize an expected 279,797.40 EUR.
Project Time Frame
The Regional Scholarship Scheme for the Ljubljana Urban Region for the 2009/2010 school year began in April 2009 and is expected to last until 31 October 2016.
The Regional Scholarship Fund for the Ljubljana Urban Region for the 2008/2009 school year shall take place from 1 April 2008 to 31 October 2015.
